| FOURTH
EDITION OF THE PRACTICES CONSOLIDATES THE SOBECC ROLE
|
| Since
the SOBECC´s foundation in 1991, our successive
directorates had always kept the firm intention to extend
the performance of the entity, in order to spread the
best practices of Perioperative Nursing from north to
south of Brazil. It was with this objective that appeared
the idea to elaborate and to register recommendations
for the professionals of the Operative Block, as it
happens in - Association Operation Room Nurses
-(AORN), that possess written and standardized
processes regarding the activities of the Nursing in
the Surgical Center, the Pos-Anesthetic Recovery and
the Materials and Sterilization Center
The challenge however, was to write procedures that
reflected the reality of Brazil, which was surpassed
with great success due to the contribution of the SOBECC
partners and to the devotion of a very experienced
reporters team in the practices and the Perioperative
Nursing education. Thus, in 2000 was born, the first
Brazilian reference in this area: the SOBECC Recommended
Practices. However, since then it was clearly understood
that it would not only be enough to describe procedures,
but also to bring up to date them at least to each two
years, due to the speed that health services incorporate
new services and technologies. Therefore, with this
commitment, had come subsequent editions of the SOBECC
Recommended Practices that now culminates with the launching
of this fourth edition, totally revised and extended
by a group of specialists, masters and doctors who follows
carefully the national and international scientific
production in the area of Nursing in Surgical Center,
Recovery Pos-Anesthetic and Center of Materials and
Sterilization.
More
than being a victory of a great objective, the fourth
edition of this manual consolidates the SOBECC role
as diffusing the best practices in the Operative Block
and, the most important, helping to construct an uniformity
in a safer and most human care assistance, as well as
the health care articles manipulation whenever will
be the patient admitted in a hospital for the accomplishment
of an anesthetic-surgical procedure. After all, this
is the goal of our work. We hope you will take a good
advantage of this publication and make you use it as
your ' bedside book ' in the Operative Block.
